About the program
Beginning in March 19th 2023, LEAP participants will embark on a 13-week program of tailor-made ideation, market validation, and education sessions aimed at helping entrepreneurs bridge the gap to identifying and understanding the needs of their target market. Participants from the fields of health and technology will work in multidisciplinary teams, given a front-row seat to the on-the-ground challenges of the healthcare ecosystem. The program will be guided by top-tier investors, market experts, physicians, entrepreneurs, and executives from the world’s leading medical institutions.
Our first cohort of promising tech entrepreneurs and clinicians will immerse themselves in the clinical reality, acquiring privileged access to medical practitioners, researchers, and executives from Rabin Medical Center, as well as hospital facilities. On-site practicum sessions will expose participants to the clinical environment, providing a first-hand experience of the daily routines and unmet needs in the healthcare space. Through market validation sessions led by top-tier investors, senior executives, and successful HealthTech entrepreneurs, participants will gain a global market perspective on reimbursement, regulation, GTM strategy, business storytelling and fundraising.

Workshops led by top health professionals, executives, and venture capitalists will enable participants to exercise their newly gained knowledge and begin to develop their ideas into business initiatives. aMoon , Rabin Medical Center, 8200bio and AWS will provide teams with mentoring and guidance throughout the program to build and tailor technologies for product-market fit, craft sustainable business models, and gain access to industry-leading experts, global networks, and development tool to translate revolutionary ideas into practice.
Graduates will create a community of LEAP alumni, and benefit from ongoing mentoring and networking opportunities. The most valuable aspect of the LEAP program will be the collaborations that emerge from this unique melding of minds between visionary tech entrepreneurs and talented medical professionals, fusing their expertise to imagine – and produce – disruptive solutions for the healthcare ecosystem.

FAQ
We help our participants leap forward in their journey to develop successful healthtech ventures, using a three-pronged approach. First, we educate participants in the nuances of the US healthcare market and effective GTM strategies for the healthtech sphere. Second, we facilitate direct, hands-on exposure to clinical needs by spending time in hospital departments, understanding the real-world pain points and unmet needs in clinical scenarios. Third, we provide participants with opportunities for discovery and feedback regarding the needs of the American healthcare market by engaging with U.S.-based healthcare leaders.
Leap is designed for exceptional entrepreneurs who are looking to launch innovative healthtech ventures. We evaluate candidates along three primary criteria: commitment to venture creation, being perceived by VC’s as a strong entrepreneur, and needing what the program has to offer – a focus on market discovery and validation.
No. Unlike accelerators, which focus on teaching participants how to build a startup, we believe participants already know these theories or can easily learn them. We won’t spend time covering the theory of startup building. What we will focus on is helping qualified entrepreneurs discover and validate business-worthy ideas in the healthtech space.
No. In fact, it is our mission to attract talented entrepreneurs from outside the field of healthcare, as well as leading clinicians from the hospital. Thereby, we will bridge the knowledge gap by helping participants discover promising venture creation opportunities. Applicants with a healthcare background can also greatly benefit from the program by expanding their horizons on effective healthtech GTM strategies, discovery of unmet needs, and direct exposure to market validation.
No. We welcome candidates both with and without venture ideas. In either case, we will help you develop ideas and gain direct market validation regarding the projects you are evaluating.
No. Leap is open to both pre-established teams and individuals looking to form partnerships. This program is an ideal venue for meeting and networking with exceptional partners for venture creation.
No, the focus is digital health. As for the clinical domains, we will dive into all fields of medicine, in a tertiary hospital. All domains are relevant.
No. Leap was created in partnership with 8200bio, an organization of 8200 alumni working to promote the Israeli healthtech ecosystem. The program does strive to bring exceptional 8200 alumni into the healthtech domain, but the program is open to entrepreneurs of any background, according to the criteria described above.
This program is designed to help entrepreneurs leap from an idea to a start-up. We will meet weekly over the course of 13 weeks. We will spend time within the departments of Rabin Medical Center (Beilinson campus), learning about the healthcare ecosystem, unmet needs, and GTM approaches. We will brainstorm and workshop ideas, and have conversations with healthcare leaders in Israel and the U.S. to gain valuable feedback on market needs and the business-worthiness of our venture ideas. We will create a strong group of peers thinking together about the greatest challenges in healthcare, and work with external consultants and advisors to sharpen rough ideas into diamonds.
Participants are required to commit to attending at least 80% of the program sessions. We are looking for individuals with a high level of commitment to venture creation, and who are eager to work in between sessions to drive their ventures to success. Our ideal participants are already motivated and heavily invested in venture creation without us. We are here to facilitate this journey and help participants make a leap in their product and market discovery journeys.
No. The program is offered free of charge, without any equity commitments. We are here to promote the Israeli healthtech community and facilitate successful venture creation.
No. The program does not make any claims per se. The participants’ intellectual property belongs to the participants or the organizations they represent, according to the law.
Leap does not offer funding. A major partner of the program is aMoon, a leading VC. Participants will meet and network with VC’s during the program, but we do not facilitate fundraising, nor offer prizes. Participants will, however, receive tremendous support in propelling their ideas into viable venture creation opportunities.
Yes. We’re open to all types of entrepreneurs, including clinician-entrepreneurs from any institution. Note that we are looking for participants who are committed to entrepreneurship and venture creation.
